Importing New Machinery

Importing new machinery can be a complex process, as there are a variety of factors to consider.

You’ll need to factor in the lead time for delivery and installation; as machinery that is shipped from overseas can take a minimum of a month to arrive, so it is important to plan ahead. There are costs that need to be budgeted, such as import duty, import GST, shipping costs to Australia, port charges and Quarantine concerns.

Businesses can ensure a smooth and seamless experience when importing new machinery by using a reputable company like Platinum®.

Importing excavators

Types of New Machinery That We Can Customs Clear?

At Platinum® Freight Management, we can help you import the following types of new machinery:

  • Excavators
  • Bulldozers
  • Tractors
  • Forklifts
  • Tampers
  • Compactors

    Excavators

Excavators are one of the most versatile pieces of construction equipment available, and they can be a valuable addition to any work site. Excavators can be used for trenches, excavations, demolition, and even landscaping. However, before you can use an excavator on your project, you will need to import it from another country.

We will work together with your overseas supplier, the shipping company and finally our transport team to have your excavator delivered to your work site. The process of importing an excavator can be complicated, but with the help of an experienced customs broker, you can have your excavator delivered promptly and on time.

    Bulldozers

Bulldozers can be used for clearing land, digging trenches, moving debris, and many other applications; as a result, they are in high demand.

In order to ensure that your bulldozer arrives safely and on time, it is important to work with a reputable freight management company that has experience with this type of equipment. With our assistance, you can rest assured that your bulldozer will make its way to you without any problems.

    Forklifts

Forklifts are an essential piece of equipment in many industries, from construction to manufacturing. At the moment we are seeing that most forklifts are being imported from China. Importing will generally save you money but it’s important to know the ‘full picture’ before you buy the forklift.

You’ll need to budget for the cost of the forklift, the shipping costs to Australia, the port charges in Australia and the import GST.

    Tractors

Tractors are an important tool in any farm or agricultural business. They are used for a variety of tasks, from ploughing fields to hauling crops. Tractors can also be used for mowing lawns and even snow removal.

While many businesses choose to purchase tractors from local dealers, others opt to import them from other countries. There are a few things to keep in mind when importing tractors, such as transportation costs and import taxes. Importing a tractor can also be a good way to get a unique model or brand that is not available locally in Australia. Tractors imported from other countries must also meet safety and emissions standards. With careful planning, importing tractors can be a great way to expand your farm or agricultural business.

    Frequently Asked Questions About
    Importing New Machinery

Can I import new machinery into Australia?

You can import new machinery either in your personal name or your business name. Importing new machinery is much easier and less expensive than importing used machinery. We have seen and heard of used machinery needing to be re-exported from Australia because it was considered a high risk to Australia’s Agriculture. Platinum® does not work with any machinery that is considered used.

What types of machinery cannot be brought into Australia?

Most if not all new machinery can be imported to Australia; we would need to see a brochure of the machinery that you wish to import and then we could address the questions that need to be asked from your overseas supplier.

What do you need to import new machinery?

Your overseas supplier, you and us work together to make the process of importing new machinery happen; we provide you and your supplier with a list of concerns and then work through the list together.
